French Tapestry Evening Purse with Decorative Brass and Cabochon Glass Frame and Clasp.

A finely tooled brass frame decorated with flowers and leaves is highlighted by the addition of cabochon set glass stones in vibrant shades of red, blue and green. The delicate chain is also crafted from brass and the frame features a filigree jewelled clasp.

The brass has a lovely patina of age while the tapestry fabric itself retains a lovely muted atmosphere in mixed shades of tan, teal and old rose against a neutral ground.

The pattern is of stylized flowers and leaves and is different front and back.

All the stones are in place and the fabric is in very good Vintage condition with no holes or rubs.

Inside, the original beige silk lining is intact and virtually un-damaged, with only some slight age discoloration. The silk-backed original mirror is in the inside pocket.

The entire inner edge is finished with exquisite tiny silk flowers in pink, blue, lavender and palest green. Truly delightful.

Measuring 5 1/2" from the top of the working clasp to the bottom and 6 1/2" in width, the chain is 10".
