This beautifully rendered and very detailed watercolor on paper depicts the bell tower in Siena, Italy. The tower sits in Piazza del Campo, and is the second bell tower in Europe. It is monogrammed and dated 1895 in the lower right, but we have been unable to match the monogram with any particular artist. However, the work was obviously created by a talented artist, as the portrayal combines fine detailing as well as a sophisticated use of light, color and shadow.
The watercolor itself measures 19" x 13" and is framed with a cream colored mat and thin black and gold frame. Framed size is 29" x 24". Both the watercolor and frame are in very good condition.
