Beautiful FRENCH ART DECO watch~~18k w/rubies-"HB" mark curved domed crystal

For your consideration is a Beautiful FRENCH ART DECO 18k and ruby watch. This watch dates from the late 1930's to early 1940's and has been in my family since it was new. The square dial is marked "HB" and has gold numerals and hands. The ORIGINAL movement is a 15 jewel wind up and works perfectly. A total of 12 round faceted ruby gemstones are pave set into two round domed 18k gold sections that are attached to the square case. The 18kt was tested by a certified jeweler.

The crystal is curved/domed and original and in wonderful condition with no cracks but there are surface scratches. The ruby gemstones each measure approximately 2.3mm with medium dark pink to medium red color with good clarity. Please note my camera makes the ruby colors look pinker than they actually are. The approximate total weight in rubies is .70ct. The watch lugs are long and tapered and a dark maroon genuine lizard band completes the watch. The total watch length including the band is 7.5 inches. The watch face including the ruby sections measures approximately 2 inches long. The watch face itself measures 5/8 of an inch square. The total weight for the watch including the band is 16 grams.

There are two small stamps on the side of the watch. One is of the initials "HB" for the maker. The other has letters and symbols. They were very hard to photograph even with the loupe. I have not been able to identify them. This is really a beautiful watch that looks feminine but strong on the wrist. My home has always been a non-smoking home.
