JOSEFF of HOLLYWOOD Art nouveau style necklace set

For your consideration is a vintage JOSEFF of HOLLYWOOD demi parure Art nouveau style necklace set. Eugene Joseff supplied an astounding ninety percent of costume jewelry during Hollywood's "Golden Age". "A Star is Born", "The Wizard of Oz", "Gone with the Wind", Casablanca" . . . virtually any major classic film used Joseff's pieces. His client list is a "Who's Who" of Hollywood legends; i.e., Elizabeth Taylor, Greta Garbo, Vivien Leigh, Grace Kelly, Clark Gable, Errol Flynn .

This is a very elegant looking set with a stylized art nouveau looking wings. I'm not sure how else to describe them. The center pendant has what looks like 3 different wings joined in the center. There are small balls on each wing that stand up giving a lot of depth to this set. The "chain" of the necklace is made of the smaller version of the wings. The necklace has a centerpiece that measures 2 1/2'' wide. The total length of the necklace is 16 inches. The necklace has with a large jump ring from the era. The matching clip earrings measure 1.5 inches long and 5/8 of an inch wide.

This elegant set is done in his famous Russian gold plating. The Joseff signature oval plaque is on the back of the pendant in block letters '' Joseff Hollywood''. One of the links in the necklace is stamped "Joseff Hollywood" in block letters. The earrings are not stamped as is the case often. My home has always been a non-smoking home.
