Well made ages ago and loaded with country charm. This shelf was made from pine and has three graduated tiers.
The sides were made from boards with rounded ends and the shelf could be turned either way for placement on the wall.
Circa 1840s and probably made right here in New England. Big square nails were used and construction is tongue and groove joined.
Paint mostly sanded off. Traces of original green paint can still be seen and the second coat was white.
Measures approximately 21 1/4 inches x 26 3/4 inches and around 4 1/2 inches deep. In addition to above, there are couple of knots and a bit of roughness on one shelf edge.
Makes a very fine storage unit in a country or shabby setting (items on shelves not included).
