Postal scale

This form of postal scale is called a "candle stick" scale. No doubt owing to it's form. It is brass, weights up to 4 ounces. It is marked by the maker: R.W. Winfield, Birmingham. Patented January 13 1840. This handsome scale is in excellent condition and is still very accurate. Should you have a mind to, you could easily keep it to decorate your desk, and use it to weigh your envelopes for the proper amount of postage. It is 6.5 " tall, and the base is 3.25" in diameter.
