19th C. Pennsylvania Redware Jar w/ Manganese Decoration

Offered by Yellow Garage dealer William Grothier is this small 19th Century manganese decorated redware crock. The crock measures 6 1/4" tall and a narrow 3 3/4" in diameter at the base. There is a series of black manganese splotches against a desirable orange-red ground. The glaze ends about 3/4" from the bottom which is typical of this type of redware.

CONDITION: Very good condition with just a few small chips on top as shown. A nice example of PA redware.
