This is a wonderful folk art pitcher created in the spirit of Yellow Ware. It has a nice glaze with hand painted blue flowers and red dots similar to the mocha color used in Yellow Ware. It is a lovely round shape with a ribbed handle that flows out of the top of the rim and then is applied to to the bowl. There are no marks except the number 716 on the bottom. I have seen a few pitchers similar to this marked 'Germany'', but I cannot say for sure that this is its origin. Nevertheless, it would be a great addition to a pitcher collection and would fit right in to a traditional yellow ware collection.
Condition is good. There are no chips or cracks to the exterior. There are a few chips on the interior of the top rim. The red line around the bottom rim has worn off in a spot of about 1 1/2" long. There is some discoloration of the interior. Please see photos to view these imperfections. The pitcher measures 7 1/2" tall, 6 1/2" at its widest point, 4" in diameter at the rim and 4" in diameter at the bottom. Please email me with any questions, and thank you for looking.
