This is a jewelry or trinket box made by the Erdmann Schlegelmilch Company in Germany sometime between 1902 - 1938 (Kovels New Dictionary of Marks, p. 35). It is very pretty with a brass ormolu clasp. It measures a little over 3 1/2" in diameter and is 2" tall.
The Erdmann Shlegelmilch factory operated between the 1860s and 1930s and was in direct competition with the factory that ultimately became R S Prussia.
Condition is good, with some imperfections. There is a chip on the interior rim (visible in photo), a bit of corrosion to the brass on the interior of the upper rim (visible in photo). There is the tiniest dent, more like a dot, not even 1/32" of an inch on the top of the box which appears to be a factory flaw. I could not get this to show up in the photograph, but it does not detract at all from the box and is not noticeable. The box is lovely and the top and bottom fit perfectly and open and close very nicely. I have priced this lovely little piece accordingly.
