Here is a wonderful find. In the style of Moser, or perhaps even Baccarat, an opaline bottle with a portrait of a lady in a blue gown. The cameo is surrounded by a gold border adorned with nicely painted deep blue-green gemstones. In addition, the entire bottle is adorned with painted strands of pearls with hanging adornments. This is a very unique piece, probably French, which dates from early to mid 1800s. The stopper and the interior of the bottle are enameled with the number '24'.
Condition is fair to good given its age. Note that the stopper has a lot of gold loss. The bottle itself has little wear to the gold and paint. There are no chips, but there is a hairline crack measuring approximately 2" on the upper left hand side when viewing the portrait. You can see the hairline in the photos. Note that it is a hairline and does not penetrate the glass.
The bottle is fairly heavy weighing 13.8 ounces and measures 6" to the top of the stopper. The height of the bottle without the stopper is 4 1/2". The top of the bottle is 1 1/8" in diameter, the bottom is 2 7/8" in diameter. The stopper is 2 1/8" long, 3/4" diameter at the bottom and 1 1/4" in diameter at the top.
