Pince Nez Spectacles or Glasses with Gold Chain and Case

Here is a nice pair of 'pince nez' glasses which could be set on the end of the nose via a spring mechanism along with a small hair comb attached via a chain. This type of glasses were popular from the late 1800s to the early 1900s. They are in very good condition with no scratches or chips. The case is well used and shows signs of wear commensurate with its age. It says "E. W. Eckhardt, Druggist & Optician, Elmhurst-Oakland, Cal.

The case measures 5" x 2", the glasses measure 4 1/2" x 1 1/2". The hair pin 2 3/8" long and the length of the chain including the hair pin is 10 1/4" long. Please email with any questions and thanks for looking!
