Japanese Banko Teapot and Teacup Set - Cranes and Flowers
This is a wonderful early 20th century Japanese Banko Ware teapot and teacup. They are both highly enamelled and painted with cranes, flowers and water. They each have ties around the top resulting in delightful plisse edges. The teapot has a ruffled edged top and decorated lid, highlighted in gold. The teacup bottom contains a Banko mark. The teapot is in very good condition with no chips or cracks, and is complete with the tea strainer. The teacup has a glazed interior and is in good condition, but appears to have been repaired (please see the dark mark on one side under the bow tie). Nevertheless, this pair might make a wonderful addition to your collection, or perhaps you might like to start one!
The teapot measures 6" at its widest point with the body measuring 4" at its widest and is just under 4" tall at the top of the lid. The teacup is approximately 3" wide by 2" tall.
Also, there is a Banko Ware Salt and Pepper in my shop that would fit nicely with the tea set. Shipping can be combined.
