Scarlett, Rhett, Mammy, 1967 Gone with the Wind World Dolls, Tagged and MIB
Welcome to Mama Jo's House of Dolls ... where every doll comes with a surprise!
The allure of the epic saga Gone with Wind has only increased since the movie's release in 1939. My mother's taller World Doll versions of Scarlett and Rhett have already been scooped up. These measure 12 inches for Scarlett and Rhett, 10-1/2 for Mammy. The boxes look brand new inside and out. So do the dolls, all tagged. Hard to believe they were made in 1967 ("The most magnificent doll ever!" the boxes state). Scarlett and Rhett are vinyl, jointed, bend at the waist and have socket heads. Their necks are marked World Doll. Mammy has a cloth body and vinyl lower legs, hands, and head. Her head does not turn and is marked: 1939 SELZNICK...1967 MGM. The model numbers are: Scarlett Green Velvet 71151, Rhett Tuxedo 71241, Mammy Black Dress 61061. The stands are included. Rhett's has my grandmother's name on the bottom, adding provenance.
Check out Mammy's sexy red slip and fingernail polish!
The only flaws are a tiny bit of smudged lipstick on Scarlett (oh, that Rhett) and a stain and red mark on Mammy's white apron (she's been workin' in the kitchen, honey!). For fun, I've added a shot of Rhett with the other Scarlett I have listed, the stunning Beverly Walters artist version sold separately (Item 045). A great set for the Southern belle in all of us!
