Welcome to Mama Jo's House of Dolls where every doll comes with a surprise!
This is "Lida" -- a pretty blonde bonnet head in a bright light blue antebellum dress made of dotted swiss and accented at her empire waist with a spray of flowers and pink and blue velvet ribbons. Her blue bonnet head has pink trim and blue and pink flowers. Her blonde hair is sculpted into the nape of her neck. There's plenty of lace trim everywhere. Her handmade dress (most likely by my grandmother) is in perfect shape; her slip shows some aging. Her pale face is perfectly painted. No chips, hairlines anywhere on her face, legs, arms, hands or feet. Her mid-body is cloth and the rest is porcelain. Her legs are glazed as are her cute black flats with red laces. A lovely serene doll with a beautiful bonnet molded to her head. She's unmarked but probably from the 1960s-80s when my mother and grandmother collected a lot of similar artist dolls. A stand will be included.
