1920s Crawling Celluloid Wind-Up Baby Made in Japan

Welcome to Mama Jo's House of Dolls where every doll comes with a surprise!

Mama Jo was born in the 1920s and played with "Lulu" when she was a child. She's a wind-up celluloid baby doll with MADE IN JAPAN stamped on her right foot. On the back of her neck it says: PATENT 219991. She's 3" tall and 4" long. Her glued-on gown has seen better days and she has a crease in her forehead I bet my mom tried to hide with the pink ribbon. She has been well-loved and shows it! And still moves when you wind her up. Not that well, considering she's almost a hundred years old. She tends to stop when you put her down. That cute painted face full of discovery and whirring sound she makes is bound to warm your heart on the coldest of days. A toy that is definitely from another era!
