1960s Madame Alexander Caroline Kennedy with Box 4930 and Tagged Pink Outfit 14 inch
What a cute and different apple-cheeked face Miss Caroline has! No wonder she's in such demand. This 14 inch Caroline was made for a short time, from 1961-1962. Then the company was asked to stop producing her and the Jacqueline Kennedy doll. I have Jackie too and will be listing her. If you have an interest let me know so I can move her up in the queue. Caroline's box is in good shape with a small tear on one corner of the lid. A beautiful doll full of spark! The white bow in her hair matches the one on her pink bonnet. Her sleep eyes are clear blue and her lashes are full.
If you look very closely you'll see a teeny weeny black dot on the bridge of her nose. Other than that, her only flaw is that her satin-lined corduroy pink jacket could use a trip to a good dry cleaners, especially for the stain on the front. There's also some fading but you have to open her jacket to see it. There are a couple of stains on her one-piece outfit under her jacket. The elastic in her waistband could be tighter but her pants stay up fine. It appears she's never had her Madame Alexander tag removed so I kept her clothes on for her photo shoot (was she ever glad for that). Her body looks great from what I can see. I unsnapped her one-piece in back and saw a stain from the snap on her back. Her neck is marked Alexander 1961.
