English Victorian Sterling Card Case

This card case is highly engraved on both sides and was produced by Edward Smith, Birmingham, England. Date marked for the 1860-1861 period; the hallmarks for this information are revealed upon opening the hinged top. Being a presentation piece, the central cartouche is a triple letter monogram "PEB" ??? and the date of 11SEPT1889. NOTE: the card case was in existence for almost 30 years before it was engraved with the presentation data.
