Santa's Mistake - Humorous 1909 Santa Postcard

Very cute and in great condition. This postcard features a wide-eyed Santa being corrected by a little boy as he is putting a doll into a stocking. The boy is saying "Say, old scout, you got your numbers mixed - dats my stocking! Dere's a girl lives next door."

The back does not indicate the maker or country of origin, but it was most likely printed in Germany. The title on the back appears in German and French most prominently (Postkarte - Carte postale), followed by fourteen other languages, including English.

The color and sheen on the artwork are in nearly mint condition, as is the gold paint on the decorative border. Corners and edges have very minimal wear. The back has only a name ("Mark") and a note of the date ("1909"), marked in pencil. It was never stamped or mailed.
