Vintage Elgin American Gold Tone Embossed Compact Carryall

This vintage Elgin American gold toned carryall is beautifully embossed with leaves and a floral design. The front and back are identical. It has five compartments inside and two of the compartments have an embossed cover.The inside embossed cover has leaping gazelles. There is a compartment for lipstick and one for money. It has Elgin American Made in USA imprinted on one of the embossed compartments. It is 4 1/2 inches long, 2 1/2 inches wide and 1 1/2 inches deep. It does have scratches on the plain gold tone sides. The top and bottom of the compact are in good condition. The pictures suggest that there is red but there is not. There is some discoloration of the brass along the rim that is 1/2 inches long but I could not get a picture of it. The mirror is clear. The inside is in good condition but there is some slight discoloration in two spots. Overall, it is a charming compact.
