We are offering this wonderful English dinner set for your collection of child's china or for your large scale doll display as we have photographed. It is impressed with the initials "BB" for Best Body manufactured by Minton, a Staffordshire company located at Stoke from 1793. It is also impressed with the numbers "66" which may indicate the date of manufacture, 1866. One of the platters is marked, "CAIRO", for the design which resembles Greek Key in a teal color. The set consists of 21 pieces which include four graduated oval platters, 5" - 8" long; a covered soup tureen, 3 1/2" X 6 X 4" high, with an underplate; five soups 4 1/2" diameter; six plates 4 1/2" diameter; a covered vegetable; an open vegetable 3" X 5" X 2" high. We have not observed any damage or repair to this set, except for a slight roughness on the inside rim of the covered vegetable. The color and design are very beautiful with the curved handles on the tureens and the scalloped knobs on the lids. This is a very rare and early English set worthy of a prominent display.
