We would like to offer for your collecting pleasure and buying consideration a wonderful antique miniature English blanket chest, made possibly as a sample or an apprentice piece. It dates from the late 19th century and its petite scale and mellow oak patina make it an excellent accessory for a large scale doll. The doll we are displaying it with is 20" tall, which is not available for sale at this time. The rectangular top is hinged and opens to an interior of open fixed wells. The chest has tongue and groove corners. There is a brass escutcheon and a lock, but there is no key included. One aspect of this chest which makes it special are the two lower drawers that have original brass pulls. The chest is raised on bracket feet in the chippendale style. It is in a wonderful condition, with the possibility of the two top hinges having been replaced. It is a collector's piece in its own right, but also doubles as a great doll accessory, in which to place her accoutrements.
The approximate measurements are: 13 1/2" wide X 7" deep X 10" high.
