Miniature Eglomise Mirror

We are pleased to be able to offer for your consideration this beautiful and rare antique miniature eglomise mirror. It is made in the exact form and detail as its large scale counterpart and is the perfect size for a French fashion to view herself. Unfortunately, she is not available for sale at this time. This lovely mirror is all original and in excellent condition including the glazed mirror, carved and gilt frame, and backing. Most beautiful, however, is the eglomise (reverse painting on glass) pastoral scene of a red barn on a hilltop surrounded by trees and evergreens. This mirror can be hung which is perfect for a doll display or stand on its own. A mirror such as this is often sought after by miniature enthusiasts and collectors. We believe it is American from the early part of the 20th century.
