We are offering for the first time an outstanding horse, jockey, and tackle set. It has been put together with items from Germany and England. The jockey doll is most rare and difficult to find. His white pants are leather and his jacket and hat are coordinated in blue and brown. His head, hands, and possibly his boots are composition. The colors are bright and the condition is just wonderful. The only condition issues that we noticed is a chip to his right thumb and a small chip to his hat. The tackle box and hay bin are both marked, "Made in Germany". Just as amazing in detail and construction is the horse, which had been made by Elizabeth Reynolds in England. It was as though she made the horse just for this jockey who may have originated in Germany. A label on the horse reads, "Hand Made Real Skin and Leather Made in England". Another tag reads, "Made in England exclusively for Bullock's Wilshire." The jockey sits very comfortably on this horse as he readies to leave the barn for post. In addition there are many accoutrements needed to groom and care for a horse. There are 5 horse shoes, a saddle, bridle, lead lines, brush, shovel, rake, a red tin pail, a red checkered blanket, and a tin groomer. All are made from wood, leather, and tin. What a wonderful presentation in miniature for a horse lover. All the items in our picture are included, except for the barn which is sold separately.
The approximate measurements are: jockey 7 12" tall; horse 9" long X 8 1/2" high; tackle box 4" long X 2" deep X 3" high; saddle 2 1/2" long, blanket 9 1/2" long.
We appreciate your visit to our shop today to view a very unusual and rare miniature horse related set. We hope you enjoyed your visit and will contact us if we can be of further assistance.
