Italian Children In Barn by Postiglione

This delightful oil on canvas painting depicts two children entertaining a baby with a gentle lamb, the symbol of softness, patience and purity. Painted by Luca Postiglione it is in excellent condition and in a period gold frame. Postiglione was born in Naples, Italy into a family of 19th century artists. Many of his paintings depict lovely women, children, and church interiors. It is signed in the lower left L. Postiglione. Canvas size is 11" x 15" with an overall size of 15 1/2" x 19 1/2". Circa 1900.
