This 8 1/4" Prattware plate is unsigned with no marks at all on the back. It was made by F. & R. Pratt & Co., Fenton Potteries, Staffordshire, on their standard "123" pattern border with a creamy yellow rim. It dates from the mid to late 19th century. "Il Penseroro" is a poem by Milton. The plate is in excellent condition overall with no cracks or chips. The gold trim is not worn. There are 3-4 small 1/8" flecks on the yellow border and the back shows a fine overall crazing. There is also a pop under the glaze to the right of the transfer. This is a fine example. We are offering free shipping for this piece for our U.S. customers. Costs for others will vary by location.
