T&V Limoge Daisy Chain Dinner Plate
The Tressemanes & Vogt(T&V) Limoge factory produced stunning china from 1891 to 1919 when the factory changed hands. As a testimony to their preeminence they were commissioned to produce the Benjamin Harrison White House china service which is often credited as being one of the most beautiful ever made. The pattern of the plate shown here does not have an official name but is often referred to as Daisy Chain. This plate is pictured on page 306 of Collector's Encyclopedia of Limoges Porcelain, Third Edition by Mary Frank Gaston. It is a 9 1/2" dinner plate and has a chain of daisies overlaying a yellow-buff border. The beauty of this pattern is accentuated by the hand-painted white enamel that outlines the daisies. The rims are gilded. It is marked on the reverse as shown with the two marks for 1892-1907 and 1907-1919. The plate is in excellent condition with no cracks, chips, crazing, or utensil marks. It was used sparingly if at all. The price is for one but we have 11. Moreover, we have over 70 other pieces of this pattern that we will be adding to our shop over the next several weeks. Please note that there are several variations of the Daisy Chain pattern with different colored rims. Please check yours for an exact match. We'd be happy to answer any additional questions.
