Vintage Royal Doulton-The Squire-Professional Series 3rd Firing

This plate is part of the famous Doulton "The Professionals" Series that was introduced in 1909. The series was produced in 4 separate firings and was discontinued in 1974. This plate is from the third firing, circa 1948-1960 as indicated by the D6 number under the Doulton logo. This plate is titled "The Squire" and is number D6286. It is a very vibrant, colorful plate, 10 1/4" in diameter, and is in excellent condition. There are no cracks, crazing or chips. Note the white spots on his coat are glare from the photo and from damage. It is marked on the reverse as shown. The pattern number is applied by hand and presumed to be an early issue of this firing. We are offering this plate at less than half the priced charged by a major matching service. There is no box.
