VINTAGE ROMANCE~ Engel Brothers ART DECO Crystal Rhinestone Necklace

This silver set Engel Brothers piece is running over with beautiful & brilliantly clear rhinestones.

The Art Deco style the Engel Brothers are know for is evident here. Their jewelry is said to be rare and difficult to find because their company operated for only 30 years beginning in 1930. I would believe this was a relatively short span of time for a jewelry company's existence.

The centerpiece here features flairs, lines, petals, leaves and stigma all bursting with clear rhinestones in various sizes of round and large pear cuts. The scalloped edges of the petals hold channel set rhinestones as does most of the centerpiece.

The larger pear shaped stones are bezel set while the two smaller round stones are hand set. Round clear chaton rhinestones make up the necklace.

A thick layer of rhodium plating backs this centerpiece giving it a 3-D make in design. The necklace also has a rhodium plated back. Holding this necklace together is a silver tone fold-over clasp. The Engel Brothers earliest Hallmark, 'E. B.' is found stamped on the reverse side. Four necklace rhinestones have darkened over time however there is no fault found on the centerpiece.

Measurements:Necklace 14 1/4" in length; Centerpiece 2 1/2" long, 1 1/4 , 1/8" thick.
