This wonderful pin measures 4 inches long by 2 inches across. It's got depth as well – of 1 5/8 inches. The leaves look like gold wash over copper. The flowers are early celluloid or plastic. Each flower has 3 metal stamens tipped by faceted purple stones. The flowers are attached with wire that allows the flowers and stamens to dangle and move. The pin has a rolling safety catch that works well. The workmanship on this piece is remarkable and the pin is in good condition with only slight wearing to the wash. This is a classic large floral pin of the late 30s to early 1940s. A similar pin is featured in Ettinger's book Popular Jewelry.
