Six Five O’Clock Spoons Sterling Wallace Louvre issued 1893

Pictured are six lovely small five o'clock sterling spoons by Wallace in the Louvre pattern which was issued in 1893. Each spoon is 5 ¼ inches long. The spoons are fully marked on the back with "RW S Sterling" and a deer with antlers (see the photos) and are in good condition with only a few dings and patina expected due to age. This pattern is very intricate – a thing of beauty. It actually looks lacey!

Notes: Wallace was founded in 1835 by Robert Wallace in Wallingford Connecticut, the son of a Scottish immigrant. Initially Wallace worked in pewter until learning of the new German coin silver. Early silver lines were successful and patterns were impressive. Wallace quality was a byword.
