Set of Two Gaudy Handleless Cups and Saucers unmarked c. 1850
Pictured is a set of two Gaudy handleless cups and saucers, decorated in blue, red and gold on white. The cups are 3 inches high and the saucers are 6 inches across. All 4 pieces are in amazingly good condition with no serious visible damage – no cracks or repairs. Some of the gold is worn as you would expect from such old pieces and there are a couple of tiny flea bites on the bottoms of the cups. There are no identifying marks, except an A in red on the bottom of one cup that can be seen in the photo. Gaudy is so charming and these pieces are very nice!
