Gaudy Welsh Plate Basket of Flowers unmarked late 1800s

This is a gorgeous 9 inch Gaudy Welsh plate decorated in blue, red, green with gold on white. The plate is scalloped. In the center of the plate and along the edges we see blue baskets of flowers in shades of red with delicate green leaves. The plate is unmarked and in good condition with no visible damage – no chips, cracks or repairs.

Notes on Gaudy: Gaudy Welsh is an Imari-decorated earthenware with red, blue, green, and gold decorations. Most Gaudy Welsh was made in England for the American market. Gaudy Welsh china is heavier and has more childlike coloring than Gaudy Dutch. It was made from 1820 to about 1860.
