This light cream or shades of white dresser scarf or doily measures 11 inches long by 8 inches wide. The piece was purchased from an antique dealer at a flea market in Brussels, Belgium in the mid 1980s. The lacework is called Normandy Lace or Paris Lace, a type of lace made in Normandy, France that is made of a patchwork of laces, including medallions of embroidered fabric and Net Filet Lace edging hand sewn together. It was fashionable for American soldiers returning from war to bring home such pretty laces for a loved one. The piece has been freshly hand laundered and pressed and is in very good condition with no issues.
