Royal Doulton Character Jug Old Salt with Mermaid Small Figure D6554 marked 1960
This is a wonderful whimsical piece from Royal Doulton – a small (4 ¼ inch) character mug with a mermaid forming the handle. He is titled "Old Salt". The piece is beautifully designed and decorated as an old sailor with his cap and graying beard. On the back is the Royal Doulton mark, the mark D6554 and the copyright date of 1960. The piece is in good condition with no visible damage - no chips, cracks or repairs. Note that this is the smaller version, made in 1960. It has a hollow area in the crook of the mermaid's arm. Great piece for a collection or to just enjoy!
