Antique c1880 Chinese Silver Spirit Lock Necklace With Cloisonne, Carnelian and Turquoise

This is a gorgeous antique piece. The two sides of the lock are different. One side has a lucky bat and writing. The other side has 2 people, a parrot and a moth, I think. There is always a story to tell with these locks and a lot of symbology. Most spirit locks were worn by children as a protection amulet. The necklace part is 24" and the lock hangs an additional 2". The lock is 2 1/4" at the widest point. The beads are ox bone, carnelian, turquoise and old, beautifully colored cloisonne. It looks like the necklace may have been gold washed at one time but it is definitely silver now.

Everything on this piece is in good condition with wear to be expected considering the age.
