A really nice sterling asparagus server by Gorham silversmiths in the popular "Strasbourg" pattern, with a patent date of 1897. This piece measures 9" long, weighs 96 grams (over 3 oz troy) and displays the classic scroll motif, which extends down into the fork itself. The front handle displays a single script initial of "G", while the reverse retains sharp detail, including a shell, as well as the Gorham stamp, "Sterling" and a patent date of 1897. These Victorian pieces are making a real comeback in modern sterling services, as new uses or "re-purposing" of older sterling serving pieces has become popular. This piece would make an excellent vegetable fork or perhaps a server for lasagna or enchiladas. Use your imagination!
Condition is excellent, without dents or dings, just slight wear-details remain for the most part, very sharp and intact.
