A beautiful set of 6 sterling and gilt demitasse spoons in the naturalistic aesthetic style, made by Wallace Silversmiths, circa 1880. Each 4 1/4" long spoon displays a highly detailed openwork handle consisting of vines, leaves and berries; the gilt bowl of each is in the shape of an open flower, with realistic detail both front and reverse; in addition, all bowls retain the majority of the original gilding. The set weighs 42 grams. Condition is excellent; as noted above, nearly all the bowl gilding remains intact; there is little if any wear to the pieces- use was very little, if at all.
