18th C. Georgian English Enamel Battersea Snuff/Patch Box -c.1770
Condition: Fairly heavy crazing of enamel both inside and out, but no major losses-box does have 2-3 small pin head sized losses to the pink enamel and surface wear on bottom of piece; 1 other very small area of pink enamel loss which has been color blended- losses are minimal-crazing of enamel is most notable flaw; mirror has lost some of silvering, but could be replaced if desired; Hand painted floral lid with patinated original brass hinges all in very good condition. Could use a bit of cleaning-as evidenced by the edge of the top lid, which in spite of appearances, does not have enamel losses-just soiling from 200+ years of life.
