Vintage, Beautiful Cypress Gardens, Florida souvenir display plate. Old English Staffordshire Ware transfer-print plate with hand painted fill-ins and accents. Plate displays a large center image with moss-draped cypress trees, tropical foliage, flowers, and a small bridge over a stream, opening out into a lake. Its border features five colorful scenes of Cypress Gardens: Aerial View and Circular Parking Space, Human Pyramid on Water Skis, Palm Terrace Outdoor Dining, Electric Boat Tour in Lagoons, and Photographic Models Posing in Tropical Splendor.

The back of the plate displays 'Florida Cypress Gardens' and 'America's Tropical Wonderland' in a pair of banners. It is marked Old English Staffordshire Ware, and bears two English marks, Jonroth and Adams, along with a charming verse on a scroll:

'If you'd have a mind at peace A heart that cannot harden Go find a door that opens wide upon a beautiful garden.'

This plate dates between 1936-1940.
