Stunning, hand painted Nippon porcelain biscuit / cracker jar. Shapely, six-paneled jar with curvaceous rim and six elegant feet. Lovely finial on lid.
Biscuit jar has a dark green border background with gold geometric designs. Lovely flowers in pink and red with lush foliage in two shades of green, adorn each panel. The jar's beauty is enhanced by raised gold moriage beading, and pink and blue raised enamel dots. Each stylish foot is decorated with fan-shaped foliage highlighted with gold moriage.
Marked: Nippon Handpainted.
Circa: 1891-1921.
Size: 4 7/8 inches tall to rim; or 6 1/4 inches to finial. 6 3/4 inches wide.
