Violets Trinket Jar Hand Painted China 1900s Signed

This trinket jar, mustard jar or jam pot is 2.5 inches by 2 inches. It features violets on a white background with yellow trim and scalloped edges on the jar top. The jar has a high gloss glaze. There is an open scrolled finial on the top. The piece was hand painted and is signed.

The trademark on the bottom is BRC Moliere with a crown and a wavy line beneath. BRC is an abbreviation for Bauer, Rosenthal & Co. Moliere is the mold name. The piece is signed by M. W. Horsefield. According to information available this piece was manufactured by the Phillip Rosenthal Factory between 1897-1905.

The jar was made in Kronach, Bavaria, Germany.

There are no chips or cracks.
