Carafe Water Jug EAPG Duncan & Sons Button Panel 1900

This carafe sparkles so brightly you almost need sun glasses to keep your eyes from hurting! The jug is made of very heavy thick pressed glass. A couple of the photos highlight just how thick the glass really is. Because of the thickness the pattern is very deeply pressed and this helps enhance the sparkle and brilliance. It is 9 inches tall and has a pontil on the bottom. There is no residue, there are no chips or cracks.

The pattern is Button Panel. The pattern was made in an extended table service by Duncan & Sons. (McCain, p. 178-179). There is a variant of Button Panel known as Button Panel with Bars. This pattern has wider panels and zippers extend from the panels. (Paid Subscription site)
