This is a colorful teapot designed by Mary Ann Baker for Otagiri. The design features a gray haired granny holding a basket of red apples. She is dressed in a long pink-red dress, protected by a blue apron with patches of colorful vegetables. The apron ties in the back. A yellow hat protects her head from the sun. Her cheeks are rosy and she has a happy smile on her fact. Granny is 8.5 inches from handle to spout and 7 inches tall. The spout has a protective guard.
This teapot was hand crafted and hand paint in Japan 1970s-1990s. This is in very good vintage condition with no chips, cracks or crazing. The item has the Otagiri and Mary Ann Baker trademark on the bottom.
