Wine Cocktail 4 Cut Lead Crystal 4 Ounces

These glasses have a beautiful bell-tone ring when tapped lightly. The glasses can be used as wine or cocktail glasses. They are 6 inches tall and 3 inches across. The glasses will hold 4 ounces. They are made of sparkling lead crystal. There is a factory ground pontil mark on the base.

The pattern on these glasses enhances the refraction of the crystal. The bowl of the glasses is bell-shaped, flaring slightly outward at the top. There are 3 parts to the bowl design. Varying lengths of vertical slashes decorate the area immediately below the bowl's thin rim. The slashes extend downward to a horizontal band around the center of the bowl. The vertical slashes have the effect of prisms around the bowl. Three rows of diamond cross-hatches complete the bowl design.

The hexagon shaped stem is equally decorative. Immediately beneath the bowl is a six-sided knob, slightly rounded. The stem has two deep cut knobs beneath this. The second and third knobs are square. The stem tapers in and then flares out before tapering in again to the flat base.

The glasses are sturdy but still manage to have a thin rim which is designed to enhances the taste of the wine. The clarity and sparkle is exceptional. The glasses are beautiful and are in excellent condition.

The stem is also cut and multi-sided. The pattern features a double row of diamond cuts separated by a horizontal circular band. Random length vertical slash cuts extend toward the top from the band. I don't know who made the glasses or the age. They are beautiful and they are in excellent condition.
