This magnificently carved estate jadeite and 18 karat tri-color gold ring is rich and rare, dating to the 1920's. The deep green carved jadeite depicts a pair of lotus flowers set in golden leaves and vines that create the mounting of yellow, rose and green gold. Photo's just don't do this piece justice! The different colored veins in the stone, combined with the colors of gold make this a jade collectors dream!
The prongs are flowers finished in rose and green gold that do nothing but enhance the natural beauty of this exquisitely carved stone. The floral design continues on to the top of the band forming another single flower.
This stone is in excellent condition with carved holes separating the two lotus flowers. Finding jadeite in this color and quality is almost unheard of these days. Most of the jadeite in this condition and color is only found in historical family collections.
This piece measures 21mm across the top and is 18mm wide. The band measure 2mm and is hallmarked 18 karat gold. The makers mark is a star inside a circle. This ring weighs 3.5 grams and is currently a size 5.75. This ring can easily be resized up or down 2 full sizes by an experienced jeweler.
The "18KG" hallmark was set very deep into the shank and is slightly blurred as you can see in the photo.
