This red-hot little Burmese beauty is one rare bird! Untreated in any way, a-la-natural..... These days one needs to be very savvy around the purchase of a ruby. Not only has there been an embargo on anything coming into the United States for some time now, but people have become very skilled at using techniques to mask Mother Natures finger print.
There is a process called "fissure-filling" which is a high-tech process to enhance the stones clarity and color by using molten glass and injecting it into the feathers and fissures that Mother Nature created naturally. They do this to create "the perfect ruby"....in my opinion it makes the stone look too perfect resembling a lab-created stone. I want to see Mother Natures finger prints, this tells you its the REAL DEAL!
This dramatic ruby is set in two-tone precious metal and weighs in at 4.8 grams. The ruby is bezel set in 14 karat white gold and weighs 1.10 carats. The remainder of the ring is set in 14 karat yellow gold with blazing white diamonds (VS1) that flank the ruby at .20 each, (.40TDW)
The ring is a size 6.5 and can easily be sized up or down 2 sizes by an experienced bench man. This ring has been acid tested to be 14 kt. and is hallmarked as such.
