Staring into this 6.03 carat tanzanite and diamond ring reminds me of standing on the cliffs of Santorini, Greece overlooking the Aegean Sea!
Simply Mesmerizing...Tanzanite, discovered in 1967 in Rift Valley of Tanzania, Africa located at the foot of Mount Kilimanjaro in the Merelani Hills is said to be a one source, one generation gem stone that is fit for a queen in all ways!!
Tanzanite is 1,000 times more rare than a diamond and is a 6.5 on the Moh's hardness scale compared to a 10 for a diamond, and a 9 for a sapphire.
This stone of top grade color (block D, AAAA) represents only 13% of this color mined in Tanzania, and currently (as of 2014) is selling for $2000-$2500 per carat in loose material.
This stunning ring consists of a 6.03 carat center stone, (10mm trillion) and is surrounded by .67 carats of VS2 diamonds. The mounting has a completely finished under gallery for added comfort. The carat weight of the tanzanite and diamonds are engraved into the shank.
The top of the ring measures 18.5mm (shoulder to shoulder) The shield design, (north/south) measures 16mm, making this a perfect day to evening ring for all occasions from the office to an evening out.
It is a size 7 and can safely sized up or down 2 sizes by an experienced bench man.
This ring has been acid tested as 14 karat gold. The hallmark is clearly stamped in the shank.
A true beauty. One that will surely delight and span generations.
