Classic Cardin! This double link necklace is an excellent example of French vintage jewelry by world-renown designer Pierre Cardin. It measures 24" in length and each link is approximately ½" wide. The links are designed with a smooth snake chain in gold-tone metal. The necklace lays flat when worn long and could be wrapped around the wrist to make a chunky statement bracelet. It is signed with the signature Pierre Cardin logo on the hangtag. Excellent condition. Circa 1970s.
Pierre Cardin began his career with Paquin and Schiaparelli in the year 1945. He later went on to apprentice with Dior before opening his own boutique in Paris. Over the decades he has been recognized with fashion's highest honors around the world. He is seen as a visionary in modern design and aesthetic. It is said that when you buy a piece of Cardin you don't just buy his name, you buy his eye.
