Outstanding Boucher! It doesn't get much better than this! In excellent condition, this vintage Marcel Boucher stylized brooch is made with expert craftsmanship and elegance. Rich rhinestones line the petals of this flower and circle a center faux pearl of 10 mm. The brooch measures 2 1/4" at its widest point by 2".
Marcel Boucher was a renowned American costume jewelry designer from 1931-1966. He was best known for his creative designs in quality metalwork jewelry. Born in France, he acquired his jewelry skills working in the Cartier company. After emigrating to the U.S., he designed jewelry for the Mazer company in New York in the 1930's. He began his own company Marcel Boucher and Cie Co. NY in 1937. Boucher chose only the finest in rhinestones, faux pearls and other materials to create designs previously unseen in the marketplace. This brooch is signed Boucher with the copyright symbol and dates post 1955. It also carries the inventory number 7856P and research indicates that it likely dates from the late 60s or early 70s.
