Stupid Rare Blenko 6936 Joel Philip Myers Optic Rib Decanter

The 6936 Optic Rib decanter was only made for one year sometime between 1963 and 1970. This decanter can be authenticated on the Joel Philip Myers page of the Blenko Archive; recognized Blenko expert Damon Crane (The Glass House) lists this shape as one of 12 truly rare Blenko designs based on his 10 plus years of research. In his 8th newsletter Damon ranks this design as the second rarest. Damon Crane's Glass House website is a must for anyone interested in Blenko Glass, you can find a link under My Favorites.

This example is damage free but there is a small inclusion on the surface of the glass and many tiny bubbles throughout. The inside bottom does have some white residue that looks like ground glass; I've swirled ammonia around and reduced the deposit by over 50% but have yet to find a bottle brush that will reach the bottom. There is no glass sickness in the bottle and only the slightest amount of frogging to the stopper. What you see in the images is exactly how the item looks. The stopper has to be rotated in order to be straight up and down.

Total height of the decanter is 19 inches.
